Everything?

We know that for those who love God all things work together for good. – Romans 8:28

When you’re in a middle of a hard time or the world seems to have gone crazy, it’s hard to imagine God working everything together for the good. Everything? Surely it doesn’t mean… you fill in the blanks. But what Christian hasn’t clung to this verse like a drowning person to a life raft? All things are possible with God. He is able to use whatever there is in your life for the good. He does this for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose.

Loving God seems simple, but it can be misunderstood. The Scribes and Pharisees thought they loved God by adhering to the minutiae of the law, but Jesus pointed out that their hearts were hard and they were full of hypocrisy. Those who receive salvation by grace reach out to others in love. Loving God involves caring for the weak, providing justice for those who have been wronged, and speaking up for the innocent.

God works things out for the good of those called according to His purpose. Do you know what your life’s purpose is? What makes you who you are? Start with what you have and follow the Lord’s leading on how to use it for His glory. Be confident that as you love God and are called according to His purpose, He will work out all things for your good. Remember to pray for the nation, that God will have mercy on America and use even these difficult times for the good of His people.

Today’s Verse: Romans 8:28

And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.

12 Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, 13 bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. 14 And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. 15 And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful. 16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. 17 And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
