Indo-Pacific commander says better protection needed against Chinese threat.
Admiral Phil Davidson, Commander of the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command, recently said that Guam should be protected as if it were part of the homeland. The commander said that the U.S. island territory, located in the Pacific Ocean near China, Japan, and the Philippines, is a potential target of the Chinese army.
“Guam is absolutely critical in maintaining deterrence and stability in the region,” Admiral Davidson said. “It is our most critical operating location west of the international dateline. Funding for the air and missile defense of Guam is my No. 1 priority, most importantly because Guam is U.S. homeland. There are 170,000 Americans living in Guam, and their defense is homeland defense.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For discernment for Admiral Davidson as he leads the Info-Pacific Command.
- For God to guide the Defense Department in the best utilization of troops.
- For U.S. military personnel guarding the territory of Guam.
