Today, the White House will be hosting the National Governors Association’s winter meeting. President Joe Biden will engage with governors as they discuss the needs of their states and the partnership of the federal government in assisting them as they address issues.
Recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic will lead the list of topics of conversation. Governor Andy Beshear of Kentucky recently said, “Overall, our COVID-19 numbers are coming down, which is great news – but we can’t let our guard down when we’re this close to finishing the fight.”
Infrastructure is also a priority that many governors are focused on. There is hope that projects will support employment in the states. Governor Mike Parson of Missouri indicated the relationship between economic recovery and infrastructure work, “the Missouri Department of Transportation continued to move critical projects forward despite the challenges of the past year. All told, nearly 550 projects took place across the state that injected approximately one billion dollars back into Missouri’s construction industry and economy.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For the president and governors to seek God and have discernment as they strategize plans for their states.
- For God to be at work through administration officials and give them wisdom as they work on infrastructure projects and as they support economic recovery.
- For Americans who will be employed due to the state projects
