Masks will arrive in low-income communities that lack strong health infrastructure.
On Wednesday, the White House announced that the president’s administration would be distributing 25 million masks to food pantries and community centers across the country to help stop the spread of COVID-19. The communities where the majority of masks will be distributed are low-income with a higher risk of contracting the disease. The masks are reusable, washable, cloth masks, and are expected to be distributed to about 12-15 million Americans.
White House Coronavirus Response Coordinator Jeff Zients explained that the masks were being sent to a targeted group of people since a wider distribution was no longer needed. He described the distribution as, “an effort that focuses on people who may be particularly in need of the extra support.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- That God would give the White House task force wisdom in mitigation efforts.
- For God to work His will through the president’s administration.
- For Jeff Zients as he coordinates efforts of the Coronavirus Response Team.
