President Biden admits that it is his wife’s favorite holiday.
Hearts arrived on the White House lawn on Friday, as First Lady Jill Biden decorated with large hearts as a valentine to the nation. The hearts contain messages such as “kindness, healing, compassion, and courage.” She said she was trying to spread some joy amid the dreary winter tied in with pandemic fatigue.
The first lady said, “I think things have been so — with the pandemic — everybody’s feeling a little down, so it’s just a little joy, a little hope, that’s all.” President Biden also toured the installation admitting to reporters that the first lady’s favorite holiday is Valentine’s Day, reflecting on a moment of his vice-presidency when she covered all the windows of her office with hearts.
