Carrier groups conduct joint exercise.
The Defense Department released the news on Tuesday that two aircraft carrier groups conducted a joint exercise in the South China Sea recently. According to the statement, the groups “conducted a multitude of exercises aimed at increasing interoperability between assets as well as command and control capabilities.” The last time such activity took place was over seven months ago.
The action was largely seen as a rebuke of Chinese influence in the region, reinforced by the Biden administration’s power projection with the fleet. The Chinese Foreign Ministry said it considered the actions a “show of force” that could erode the stability of South East Asia. It also said it would work with its neighbor countries to “safeguard peace and stability in the South China Sea.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For the Lord to help the Defense Department deescalate heightened tensions between the U.S. and China.
- That God would guide the Pentagon on how best to deploy the military.
- For God to give wisdom to President Biden and his Cabinet as they deal with foreign nations.
