Other conditions placed him in a high-risk category.
Representative Ron Wright of Texas died from complications of COVID-19 on Sunday, after having tested positive for the virus on January 21.
Wright, who was 67, had been undergoing treatment for lung cancer the past few years which placed him in a high risk category for experiencing more severe symptoms of the coronavirus. He was first elected to Congress in 2018.
He is the second member of the current Congress to die from COVID-19 complications. Representative Luke Letlow of Louisiana passed from complications of the virus on December 29, just days before he was to be sworn in as a member of the House.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For the families of Representatives Wright and Letlow as they grieve over their passing.
- For the voters in Texas and Louisiana who will vote in special elections.
- For an end to the pandemic.
