Former president will not testify.
House impeachment managers asked for former President Donald Trump to testify under oath either before or during the impeachment trial about “his conduct” on January 6 when protestors entered the Capitol.
The former president’s legal team called the request for testimony a “public relations stunt.” They wrote a letter stating that House managers cannot prove the allegations and that President Trump “will not testify in an unconstitutional proceeding.” The letter further stated, “The use of our Constitution to bring a purported impeachment proceeding is much too serious to try to play these games.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For God’s justice to be served in the impeachment proceedings.
- That God would preserve the United States as it faces political division.
- For federal governing officials to follow the Constitution in their actions and decisions.
