Restaurants and bars hiring as COVID restrictions ease.
The Labor Department released their most recent data on unemployment in the United States. The findings of the report were that 33,000 fewer people filed for unemployment benefits this past week. In total, 779,000 Americans were out of work, the lowest number in two months.
The improved numbers are likely tied to eased restrictions around the country leading to more restaurants and bars being reopened and rehiring employees. Across the nation, reported cases of COVID-19 have fallen by 30 percent. It is hoped that aid passed by Congress in the coming days will continue to improve the economic outlook of the country.
