Drops the admissions discrimination lawsuit brought by previous administration.
The Biden administration announced that it would be reversing another action of the prior administration on Wednesday, as the Justice Department dropped a lawsuit that alleged that Yale University was discriminating against Asian American and white students. However, the Justice Department is still investigating the ivy league school to assure that it is complying with federal anti-discrimination laws.
The Supreme Court has previously ruled that colleges are allowed to consider race or place of origin, but can only be done in a way that promotes diversity and time-limited. Many civil rights groups praised the move by the current administration, including the Educational Opportunities Project at the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, where the White House’s incoming Assistant Attorney General for civil rights is a member.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- That God would work His justice through the Biden administration.
- For the Lord to give the White House wisdom on the ways to facilitate opportunities for all people.
- That God would guide the Justice Department in the best ways to ensure equal protection under the law.
