American health experts warned that the nation might experience vaccine shortages in the coming days due to the ambitious efforts of the federal distribution plan. Nearly 54 million people fall into the category of phase two distribution, including those over the age of 65 and essential workers. Experts added that supply and vaccine production is still lagging behind.
Health authorities in California, Florida, Hawaii, and West Virginia have all reported shortages of the vaccine, and have signaled that they could run out soon. President Joe Biden signed several executive orders on Friday in an effort to allocate additional federal resources to meet the need, saying, “We’ll move heaven and earth to get more people vaccinated for free.”
