Capitol steps up security
Two days before the transition of the executive branch of the government, rehearsals for inauguration day were temporarily cut short due to security concerns caused by nearby smoke. The source of the smoke was feared to be some sort of improvised explosive device but was discovered to be a fire that broke out at a nearby homeless settlement.
Security has been extremely high at the Capitol due to the riots that broke out on January 6 as members of Congress counted the nation’s electoral college votes. Part of the preparations includes the FBI interviewing and screening all of the 25,000 National Guardsmen called to keep the nation’s Capitol secure.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For continued security and safety at the Capitol in the coming days.
- For the peaceful transfer of power to the next administration.
- For the Lord to bless President Trump today.
