Secretary says states who make doses available to all the most vulnerable people.
The Department of Health and Humans Services announced on Tuesday that it was expanding its recommendations for the national distribution of COVID-19 vaccines. Among the changes was calling on states to open up the distribution of the vaccine to those 65 and older, and those with underlying health conditions. This is a more aggressive approach than previous methods of distribution.
This will change the basis of the designated number of vaccines distributed from the total number of adults of a state’s population to the total number of adults over 65. Health Secretary Alex Azar said about the changes, “We’re telling states today that they should open vaccinations to all of their most vulnerable people. That is the most effective way to save lives now.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For those distributing and administering the vaccines and those receiving them.
- For an end to the pandemic.
- That God would guide the Department of Health and Human Services in serving the country’s wellbeing.
