Every decision is from the Lord. – Proverbs 16:33
It is time for America to find a new intimacy with the Lord. Think about the relationship you had with Him when you first gave your heart to Jesus. Recall the excitement of spending time in His Word. Remember the early struggles you had with prayer, but how open and urgent you were with Him. Step back into that. As David prayed, “Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and uphold me with a willing spirit” (Psalm 51:12).
You can have full confidence in your relationship with God. He still reigns over the affairs of humankind. He still works wonders. His power still shows up. The Holy Spirit continues to breathe confidence into your life, even in the most difficult of times.
When you spend time in God’s Word, when you pray, when you sing songs of worship and praise, you strengthen your relationship with your loving Lord. You won’t have to feel like you are at the end of a whipsaw, moving from one problem to another and back again. When you are in a trusting relationship with Him, He won’t let you down. He’ll guide every decision you make. When you go to prayer today, intercede for believers serving in Congress to seek the Lord first in their decision making, with faith and confidence that they are following His will.
Today’s Verse: Proverbs 16:33
The lot is cast into the lap,
but its every decision is from the Lord.

1 Be merciful to me, O God, be merciful to me,
for in you my soul takes refuge;
in the shadow of your wings I will take refuge,
till the storms of destruction pass by.
2 I cry out to God Most High,
to God who fulfills his purpose for me.
3 He will send from heaven and save me;
he will put to shame him who tramples on me. Selah
God will send out his steadfast love and his faithfulness!
7 My heart is steadfast, O God,
my heart is steadfast!
I will sing and make melody!
8 Awake, my glory!
Awake, O harp and lyre!
I will awake the dawn!
9 I will give thanks to you, O Lord, among the peoples;
I will sing praises to you among the nations.
10 For your steadfast love is great to the heavens,
your faithfulness to the clouds.
11 Be exalted, O God, above the heavens!
Let your glory be over all the earth!
