Field officers discovered over 120 pounds of narcotics at Texas border.
Earlier this week, U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers in Laredo, Texas, apprehended a U.S. citizen who had 100 bags of methamphetamine hidden inside the car. The man was driving into the U.S. from Mexico and was directed by border officers to a secondary inspection location where the drugs were discovered.
CBP officers used the non-intrusive imaging system, a high tech examination method, to locate over 120 pounds of the narcotic. The case has been turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement-Homeland Security Investigations agents for further investigation. The estimated street value of the seized narcotics is $2,576,736.
