Rules can go into effect right away.
President Trump announced Friday that his administration was issuing two new rules that are aimed at lowering drug prices for the Medicare program.
One rule is aimed at making sure pharmacy benefit managers pass after-market rebates onto seniors, and not to “the middle man,” he said. Rebates will need to be passed on to patients.
The second rule would align the prices paid in the U.S. to those paid in foreign nations.
From the time he took office and even during his 2016 election campaign, President Trump has had lowering medical costs as one of his signature pledges. Both rules have completed the required public comment period and can take effect immediately.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- With gratitude for all of the efforts to effectuate the new rules on drug pricing.
- For many who will see drug prices reduced, such as people who need insulin.
- For President Trump as he works to fulfill his pledges to the American people.
