Chad Wolf
Acting Secretary of Homeland Security
Chad F. Wolf was born in 1975 or 1976 in Plano, Texas. He attended Collin College on a tennis scholarship, then earned an undergraduate degree in history from Southern Methodist University. Soon after graduation, he moved to Washington, D.C. where he worked as a congressional staff person for three different senators. He was involved in the creation of the Transportation Security Administration in the wake of the September 11 attacks.
He left government to become an officer with a prominent bipartisan lobbying firm and held that position for 11 years. He received a Master Certificate in Government Contract Management from Villanova University.
He returned to the Transportation Security Administration where he became Chief of Staff. A year later, he became Chief of Staff for the Department of Homeland Security under Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen. He was promoted to Assistant Secretary of DHS for Strategy, Plans, Analysis and Risk, concurrently serving as Acting Under Secretary for Homeland Security for Strategy, Policy and Plans.
Wolf was appointed as Acting Secretary of Homeland Security in November 2019 by President Trump.
He is married and has two sons.

El Salvador, Panama, Colombia, Brazil, and Ecuador are among the stops Acting Secretary of Homeland Security visit make on a trip scheduled for the week of December 7.
There are no major conferences on the schedule, but he is expected to have in-person discussions with leaders on a range of topics. The delegation will observe the same diplomatic protocols followed by the State Department to minimize the risk of spreading the coronavirus.
Under the Trump Administration, the Department of Homeland Security has signed “asylum cooperation agreements” with Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador that could also be a part of but probably not central to the acting secretary’s discussions.
