Dr. Fauci recommends national mask compliance.
On Tuesday, the United States recorded an increase in the number of people having tested positive for COVID-19 to 11.1 million, with 246,232 total fatalities. In the last week, 8,501 people have reportedly died with the disease. In total, 32 states are seeing an increase in cases, with 17 staying about the same.
The director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, Anthony Fauci announced that the cause for the massive increase was largely due to lax measures when it comes to mask-wearing, and the dropping of temperatures around the country, weakening people’s immune systems. He also suggested uniform wearing of masks, based on a federal mandate, could go a long way to curb the spread of the disease.
