Today, President Donald Trump has no public events on his calendar. He is expected to remain at the White House, attending to the duties of the executive office.
On Monday, the president sent two judicial nominations to the Senate for confirmation: Joseph L. Barloon, of Maryland, to be a Judge of the United States Court of International Trade, and Thomas L. Kirsch II, of Indiana, to be United States Circuit Judge for the Seventh Circuit.
Secretary of State Mike Pompeo met with President Emmanuel Macron in Paris, France, on Monday. A State Department spokesperson said the leaders “discussed significant threats to global security, efforts to counter violent extremism, Iran’s destabilizing behavior, and Hizballah’s malign influence in Lebanon.” The administration is working to strengthen the Transatlantic alliance and NATO unity, to increase cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region and in response to the Chinese Communist Party.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For discernment for the president as he continues the tasks of his office.
- That the Senate would have wisdom as they consider the nominees to confirm.
- For Secretary Pompeo as he works to deepen and fortify alliances.
