Millions of votes are yet uncounted.
As of early Wednesday, the presidential election hangs in the balance. There remain a handful of closely-fought states yet to decide the outcome, which will happen in the coming hours or days.
Both President Trump and former Vice President Biden still have possible pathways to the needed 270 Electoral College votes to win the White House. The early morning count showed Biden with 224 over the president at 213 in the Electoral College count.
Earlier opinion polls had given Biden a strong lead nationwide for months, forecasting a “blue wave,” but that has failed to materialize, particularly as the Senate has so far seen little change.
Although voting concluded on Tuesday night, many states, even in a routine year, take days to finish counting ballots. Huge numbers of people voting by mail because of the pandemic has made it likely the count will take longer than usual. Legal challenges could slow final results also.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For President Trump and former Vice President Biden as they await the results of the election.
- For the people of America who are in a feeling of limbo until a final vote tally is confirmed.
- That God’s will would be accomplished in the outcome.
