Day 5 – Praying for Peace in Unrest
Nahum 1:7 – The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble he knows those who take refuge in him.
PRAYER POINTS TO GUIDE YOU AS YOU PRAY
- Pray for God to give you and other Christians strength through the power of the Holy Spirit in the face of civil unrest.
- Give thanks for God’s Word and His many promises that are with you, no matter what.
- Give thanks for the freedoms afforded Americans through the First Amendment.
- Pray for peace, civility, and safety for thousands who are protesting in cities around the nation.
- Pray for law enforcement personnel, peacekeepers, and first responders as they work to maintain safe and peaceful demonstrations.
- Pray that, through the election, the person of God’s choosing would prevail and that the Lord would be glorified.
- Pray that in the overwhelming times, God would redirect your thoughts to Him and His nearness.
- Pray for an abundance of wisdom for the nation’s leaders in addressing the needs and grievances of the people and that they would respond correctly to any who cause chaos and violence.
- Pray that fear would be replaced with trust in the character of God.
- Pray for safety and peace for individuals who live in areas disrupted by violence.
- Pray that God would use you to be a light to others who are suffering pain and confusion.
- Pray for compassion and understanding for those who may have differing views on what is best for the nation.
