30 new trails added to the protected system.
The Interior Department announced on Thursday that 30 new recreational trails in 25 states had been added to the National Trails System. At over 1,275 miles, the new trails add to the previously protected 370 miles, bringing the total length of the National Trails System to 1,645 miles. The announcement came from Lake Mead National Recreation Area by Secretary Bernhardt.
During his announcement, he said, “I encourage Americans to get outside, enjoy our incredible public lands and visit a nearby national recreation trail. Spanning more than 83,000 miles, larger than the interstate highway system, the National Trails System provides easy access to a wide variety of outdoor experiences.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For God give Secretary Bernhardt wisdom to lead the Interior Department effectively.
- That God would help the Trump Administration expand access to public lands.
- For the Interior Department to be a good steward of God’s creation.
