Matthew 7:24 – Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock.
Can you think of the last time you experienced a bad storm? Where were you? In a car? A house? Caught outside? Terrible storms can be incredibly scary experiences, especially when you feel unprotected and exposed – watching the wind and water wash away anything weak or untethered.
In the same way, life will bring you storms to weather, like what you are experiencing now during the pandemic. How are you faring during this time? Do you feel grounded on a solid foundation or are you being washed away? Jesus said in Matthew 7 that the wise man builds his house on the rock, rather than on the sand. What are the rocks you have built your house on that will carry you through the storm right now?
If you feel more like the man who built his house on the sand, take heart! You can always rebuild on a different, stronger foundation. Dig into God’s Word, spend time in prayer, put together a playlist of worship music. Draw near to God and He will certainly draw near to you and help you find a solid foundation to weather every storm you will face in your life.

Gracious Heavenly Father, thank You that I can find stability and strength in You. Thank You that You are with me through both the sunshine and the storms I experience. I ask that You would help me find solid ground to get me through this difficult time. I trust that You will be with me and will not let me drown. May my choices and my actions be pleasing to You, Lord. In your mighty name I pray,
