Find a game changer in praise.
Psalm 34:18 – The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.
Are you beginning to break under the strains of life—the coronavirus, unemployment, riots in the streets, the election that might just not go your way? You had a plan at the start of 2020. Have things gone as you inended? Are there times you’ve been disappointed, discouraged, lonely? You aren’t the first to have felt that way.
Psalm 34 where we find today’s verse has the great King David fleeing King Abimelech who is hot on his trail. David was in the hills and a cave, feeling disappointed, discouraged, lonely, betrayed, fearful. In the darkness before the morning light, the Lord began to speak to him and minister to him. Haven’t there been times in the last six or seven months when you wished you could just crawl into a cave and hide? The enemy of your soul has been in hot pursuit of you. Having lost your soul eternally, it is his present goal to keep you from being reproductive in the kingdom of God on Earth. When you are in a dark place, “get your praise on.” In that cave-ish place, the Lord is worthy of your praise. Brokenhearted? Praise Him! Crushed in spirit? Praise Him. In Psalm 22:3 KJV, you are reminded that God inhabits the praises of His people. Praise is a game-changer.
Pray With Us
Heavenly Father, although I have been dragged down in my spirit, my heart still bursts with joy over what You have done for me. It is my desire to boast of you and all your works to others who are discouraged. May Your praise continually be on my lips. Your Name is glorious, and Your love is everlasting. I praise You for all that You are,
Amen.
