More than just talking the talk.
Matthew 18:20 – For where two or three are gathered in my name, there I am among them.
You have heard it said that you are known by the company you keep. God has instructed you to come out from among those who are not faithful to Him and set yourself apart. He does not want you to conform to the world and become worldly, because the world is far from Him.
Max Lucado is purported to have said, “If you put a white glove into a mud puddle, the glove gets muddy, but the mud does not get glovey.” You cannot just “dip” your life into worldly things without consequences.
When you deliberately and consciously dedicate your live to Jesus Christ and make the decision to surrender your will to His, you have established the basis for new associations. He has made you holy, and your life conduct needs to find its consistency in godliness. Your actions speak louder than your words, so it is God’s intention that you do more than just talk the talk, but that you walk the walk before Him. Now is the time to “let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven” (Matthew 5:16).
Pray With Us
Holy God, thank You that I am not alone in my faith, but that there are others who share and enjoy this same relationship with You. Thank You that we can speak freely of our love for You, without any fear of recrimination, that we can come together to pray, that we can study Your Word in groups. This is such a beautiful freedom enshrined to us in our Constitution. I pray today, Holy God, that You would assure that, however, the election results come down, your people will not lose this freedom. I ask Your Divine Protection over America, and I thank You in Jesus’ Name
Amen.
