Exercising God’s way.
Proverbs 24:10 – If you faint in the day of adversity, your strength is small.
Months of coronavirus have kept neighborhood gyms closed. For many, this unfavorable circumstance has only served to put extra stress on emotional outrage in minds and bodies, as the endorphins usually felt from a good workout just haven’t been there. It has become easy to be discouraged and dispirited.
Unfortunately, many who are given to emotional highs also succumb to emotional lows.
God wants your spiritual strength not to lag during times of difficulty. Ephesians 3:16 says that God wants you “to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being.” It is good to be strong physically, but do not forget that your warfare isn’t against flesh and blood, but against spiritual wickedness in high places that seeks to turn you away from God and your spiritual wellbeing. Spiritual wisdom and spiritual strength go hand in hand.
If you can’t drive yourself to the gym today for your physical exercise, at least you can drive yourself to the Lord. Be consistent in your prayer life…continually coming to the throne of grace that you may find mercy, grace, and strength in the time of need. When you remain strong in the Lord, that inner being, your inner person, will have all the strength you will need when adversity comes.
Pray With Us
Heavenly Father, You are so good. Just knowing that I can have confidence in You when I am feeling weak is enough for me. Thank You for 2 Corinthians 19:9 that reminds me that Your grace is sufficient for me…that You perfect it in my weakness, so that even when I am weak, I can be strong in my spirit. Thank You for Your promises to be with me when adversity comes. Guide me as I walk this path with You, I pray. Thank You for loving me.
Amen.
