Signing ceremony joined by Senator McConnell.
The Department of the Interior announced on Tuesday that Secretary Bernhardt and Senator McConnell had come together at the U.S. Capitol to sign a new battlefield monument into the National Park system. Mill Springs Battlefield National Monument in Nancy, Kentucky is the 421st unit of the National Park System, and the site of the first major victory for the Union Army in the Civil War.
“I am pleased to announce the addition of Mill Springs Battlefield National Monument to the National Park Service,” said Secretary Bernhardt. “President Trump’s Administration and Senate Majority Leader McConnell have worked closely on this important initiative.” Senator McConnell said, “We have worked with this driven local community for many years—since some of my first days in Congress – to preserve the Mill Springs Battlefield piece-by-piece.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For God to lead the Interior Department in the preservation of the nation’s important historical sites.
- That God would use Secretary Bernhardt to lead the Interior Department wisely.
- For Senator McConnell to be led by the Lord as he serves the nation in the Senate.
