Seditions charges encouraged for violent activists.
In a memo that was sent internally to the Justice Department, Attorney General Barr directed the Justice Department to prioritize arresting and trying those attacking police in demonstrations around the country. He recommended charging those who cause violence with sedition charges – which is conduct or speech that incites people to rebel against the authority of the state.
The memo clarified that any violent opposition of federal agents could be considered sedition, that evidence of a plot to overthrow the government would not be needed. There have already been over 300 arrests on federal crimes related to riots since the death of George Floyd.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For the Attorney General as he seeks to bring anarchists to justice.
- For the president’s administration as they work to return the country to peace and order.
- For Americans to turn to God to heal the divides in our nation.
