Officials expect vaccine by end of the year.
Federal health agencies released a report to Congress on Wednesday outlining the needed steps to assure that a coronavirus vaccine could be effectively distributed to Americans for free once developed. The plan assumes that the vaccine would be administered through a safe and effective shot.
The plan outlines efforts taking place in early January and rolling out to all Americans over time. The Defense Department would be involved in the distribution of the vaccines to local healthcare facilities. The White House confirmed the timeline of this plan saying, “We do believe that it will be widely available by the end of the year.”
