Inspects damage from wildfires.
Earlier this week, President Trump went to California to assess the damage and needed recovery efforts from wildfires that have raged for several weeks. Upon arriving, the president again stated that local officials need to clean up forest floors saying, “When you have years of leaves, dried leaves on the ground, it just sets it up, It’s really a fuel for a fire. So they have to do something about it.”
Government scientists have claimed that the threat of global climate change would result in more frequent and more devastating wildfires on the west coast. While talking to California Natural Resources Agency Secretary Wade Crowfoot, President Trump cast doubt on scientists conclusions, “I don’t think science knows, actually.” He continued with the practicality of forest management, stating, “When trees fall down after a short period of time, they become very dry – really like a matchstick … and they can explode.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- That God would lead the president to solutions to the many challenges facing the country.
- For the Department of the Interior to protect God’s creation.
- For those affected by the fires on the west coast to find the support and help they need.
