Russia says election meddling charges are “unsubstantiated.”
Hackers linked to Russia, China and Iran were trying to spy on people linked to presidential candidates Donald Trump and Joe Biden according to a report from Microsoft. The tech company claimed it had detected attempts at election interference from overseas.
Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that such accusations on meddling in the internal affairs of the U.S. are “unsubstantiated.” He added, “We’re accustomed to unfounded accusations.”
Lavrov said the United States itself promoted its own interests illegally. He was speaking at a news conference with his Chinese counterpart.
In a separate retort, China batted away the allegations, accusing Microsoft of “fabrication” and “creating trouble,” adding that “the U.S. presidential election is the US’ internal affair.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- That all forms of foreign interference in the American elections would be discovered and stopped.
- For all aspects of the coming election to be fair and equitable for every citizen and candidate.
- For U.S. officials to succeed in preventing voter tampering or fraud.
