Live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age. – Titus 2:12
A young missionary from Africa came to see Bill Bright, the founder of Campus Crusade for Christ. The missionary told him that he felt like a failure after spending several years on the mission field with no tangible results. Dr. Bright shared that his ministry was fruitless because he was not relying on the power of the Holy Spirit. He explained he must continually confess his sin to God, turn from it, and walk in obedience to Him. By surrendering to His Lordship, the missionary could by faith ask the Lord to fill him with His Holy Spirit. Then he would know that if he asked anything according to His will, He will hear him.
The missionary exploded in anger. As he stormed out of the office he said, “I have spent my life serving God at great sacrifice and now you offer me this simplistic solution to my problem?”
A few days later, the missionary returned. “I believe your explanation of the Spirit-filled life is too superficial and simple. But I will ask God to show me if what you say is true,” he said.
Dr. Bright later received a letter from the joyful missionary whose heart was overflowing with praise and thanksgiving. He said, “Now I understand what you have been trying to tell me. I want to return to the mission field and teach other defeated believers what you taught me. I’m free!”
The Bible is filled with instruction on how to live according to the will of your Heavenly Father. Base your life on it because His absolute truth will set you free. Pray the nation’s leaders will do the same.

Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, 16 making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. 17 Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is. 18 And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit, 19 addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord with your heart, 20 giving thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,
