He has told you, O man, what is good, and what does the Lord require of you, but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God? – Micah 6:8
Woodrow Wilson served as the 28th president of the United States from 1913 to 1921. He also was the president of Princeton University and the 34th governor of New Jersey before winning the 1912 presidential election.
In 1911, Wilson spoke about the role of God’s Word in society. He said, “The Bible is the one supreme source of revelation of the meaning of life, the nature of God, and spiritual nature and needs of men. It is the only guide of life which really leads to the spirit in the way of peace and salvation. America was born a Christian nation. America was born to exemplify that devotion to the elements of righteousness which are derived from the revelations of Holy Scripture… No great nation can ever survive its own temptations and its own follies that does not indoctrinate its children in the Word of God… for the righteousness of nations, like the righteousness of men, must take its source from these foundations of inspiration.”
Psalm 119:105 says, ”Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” Without God’s Word, you won’t recognize God’s truth and remain in it. You won’t know how to avoid Satan’s traps and tricks. As you engage in Scripture, its power chases away the darkness and chaos and enables you to see Him more clearly. Its light allows the Lord to explore the darkest corners of your heart. So read the Bible regularly and allow the Holy Spirit to guide you. Pray that the nation’s leaders would do the same.
Today’s Verse: Micah 6:8
He has told you, O man, what is good;
and what does the Lord require of you
but to do justice, and to love kindness,

How sweet are your words to my taste,
sweeter than honey to my mouth!
104 Through your precepts I get understanding;
therefore I hate every false way.
105 Your word is a lamp to my feet
and a light to my path.
106 I have sworn an oath and confirmed it,
to keep your righteous rules.
107 I am severely afflicted;
give me life, O Lord, according to your word!
108 Accept my freewill offerings of praise, O Lord,
and teach me your rules.
109 I hold my life in my hand continually,
but I do not forget your law.
110 The wicked have laid a snare for me,
but I do not stray from your precepts.
111 Your testimonies are my heritage forever,
for they are the joy of my heart.
112 I incline my heart to perform your statutes
forever, to the end.
