Full of Hope

Hope looks beyond tomorrow.

Romans 15:13 – May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.

What are you looking forward to? A return of schoolchildren to in-classroom learning despite lingering problems with the coronavirus? An end to all the political rancor when the 2020 election is decided? The new year because 2020 has been nothing to be excited about? A life lived in closer communion with your Savior?

God’s Word cautions you to keep your focus on Him and His kingdom. Paul reminds you, “Look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal” (2 Corinthians 4:18).

You don’t know when the coronavirus will end. Dr. Anthony Fauci has said it could be around for years to come. You likewise do not know who will win the election in November. You do not even have assurance that you will live to see 2021. But you can have absolute confidence that everything—yes, everything—is in the hands of your Father in Heaven. So set all your hopes on Him. He’s got this! And He holds you in the palm of His hand

Pray With Us

Father in Heaven, I cannot carry my cares any longer. You have promised that You will care for each of them as I call upon You.  As the old hymn says, ‘My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus blood and righteousness. … When all around my soul gives way, He then is all my hope and stay. On Christ the Solid Rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand.” You are such a good, good Father, and I thank You for Your abundant love that causes me to abound in hope today. I bless Your Name,

Amen.
