His acceptance speech previewed his campaign strategy.
Bringing the 2020 Democrat Convention to a close, former Vice President Joe Biden formally accepted his party’s nomination for president on Thursday night.
Social distancing due to the coronavirus pandemic changed the normal convention activities and his speech was projected on a jumbotron screen to a parking lot filled with cars.
Along with voicing his dissatisfaction with the current administration, Biden revealed the primary message of his campaign. “As president, I’ll make you a promise: I’ll protect Americans. I will defend us from every attack – seen and unseen – always, without exception, every time.”
After the speech, Biden, his wife Jill, running mate Kamala Harris and her husband Doug Emhoff, put on face masks for a fireworks display in the Wilmington, Delaware, parking lot.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For former vice president Joe Biden to be safe and remain well on the campaign trail.
- That he, and all of the presidential and vice presidential candidates, would look to the Lord to provide wisdom in how to lead the people of the United States.
