Today, President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump are continuing their stay in Bedminster, New Jersey, at the Trump National Golf Club. In the morning, he will take part in a virtual international conference to support Beirut and the Lebanese people. Along with sending international aid, the president and other U.S. officials have offered their support to the Lebanese people following a blast that killed nearly 150 and injured over 5,000. The president and first family will return to the White House this evening.
On Saturday, the president signed four executive orders focused on providing coronavirus aid to the American people. The actions come following stalled negotiations in Congress to reach a new deal to either extend or replace the CARES Act, which expired at the end of July. Each executive order addresses a different need, including student loan relief, aid for renters and homeowners, unemployment pay extensions, and additional availability for FEMA to aid in the coronavirus response. “Through these four actions, my administration will provide immediate and vital relief to Americans struggling in this difficult time,” President Trump said.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For guidance for the president as he prepares for the week ahead.
- For God to be with the president and administration officials as they continue to work to meet the needs of the American people during this pandemic.
- For unity and cooperation for the international community as they support the Lebanese people.
