They’re Everywhere

Be discerning but not surprised.

Jude 1:18-19 – “In the last time there will be scoffers, following their own ungodly passions. It  is these who cause divisions, worldly people, devoid of the Spirit.”

Sin.  A lot of people do it, but few call it what it is anymore.  We qualify it, saying, “It’s not polite. We have to be tolerant. People make their own choices, but everyone is basically good. And they might not be perfect, but a good God would never condemn anybody to Hell.” It is in America today as it was in the Biblical times of the judges when every man did what was right in his own eyes (Judges 21:25).

But, people, sin is very real, and so is Hell, and there are a lot of people that believe they will escape it, but they won’t. The Bible is clear.

Yes, God is a God of love. But he is also a Righteous Judge. And sin is the condemning crime for which punishment will be extracted.  Hostility toward Christians, faith, churches and worship is open and rampant in cities across America. If you love the Lord, you will hate evil. If you love as the Lord does, your heart will be burdened for the evil-doers. Pray that there will be those among them whose hearts will be softened and pricked by the Holy Spirit to turn from their wicked ways, and seek His face. But don’t be surprised when they won’t.

Pray With Us

God, You are Holy. You have done all that a Righteous God can do in providing a way out of the grasp of sin. I thank You that I am Your child, redeemed and brought into Your family through the sacrifice of Your Son, Jesus.  I pray for some among the protesters and vandals on the streets who truly don’t know what they are doing, that your Spirit would draw them to You. But, in everything, I trust You. Give me boldness to call sin what it is, even with family and friends where it won’t be well received. Speak Your Gospel through me, and help me live a life that is in all ways pleasing to You. Thank You for hearing my prayers, for I pray them in the name of Jesus.

Amen.
