Time for stripping away facades.
Luke 12:2 – Nothing is covered up that will not be revealed, or hidden that will not be known.
Louis Brandeis was an associate justice on the United States Supreme Court from 1916 to 1939. In a 1913 article in Harper’s Weekly, he wrote that he had been thinking “about the wickedness of people shielding wrongdoers and passing them off (or at least allow them to pass themselves off) as honest men.” He then proposed a remedy. “If the broad light of day could be let upon men’s actions, it should purify them as the sun disinfects.”
His theory of transparency with sunlight as the great disinfectant is not merely a glimpse of the past, but a prism through which to observe whether things have changed. Politicians and legislators in America may have come a long way, but there remains a long way still to go.
There are many investigations ongoing regarding things done in government. Keep them as a matter of prayer.
Pray With Us
Heavenly Father, You are a God of Justice and of Mercy. You know all of the hidden things in the hearts of people, and you know things that are being done in secret. Today, Father, I ask that you would expose those secret things that could bring damage to this nation. Expose hidden agendas meant to bring this country down. Bless all those whose intent it is to live righteously before You. Restore peace in our land, I pray, in Jesus’ Name
Amen.
