Oregon State Police to step up presence in downtown area.
On Wednesday, Governor Kate Brown of Oregan announced that federal agents who had been deployed by the Justice Department would be making a “phased withdrawal” from the city of Portland. The process of agents from the U.S. Customs and Border Protection and U.S. Immigration leaving the city would begin on Thursday.
Acting Secretary of Homeland Security Chad Wolf clarified his department’s actions stating that the Oregon State Police would increase its presence in downtown Portland and that federal agents would leave the downtown area, while still maintaining a presence in Portland “until we are assured that the Hatfield Federal Courthouse and other federal properties will no longer be attacked and that the seat of justice in Portland will remain secure.“
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For God to help DHS to manage the withdrawal of agents effectively.
- For Acting Secretary Wolf as he leads his department to safeguard the country.
- That the demonstrations would return to peaceful protests.
