Interior Department praises passage.
On Wednesday, Congress passed the Great American Outdoors Act which provides funding for improving the public-facing aspects of national parks across the nation. The president began putting pressure on Congress to pass the act in March of 2020 after the funding had been postponed for several years.
Secretary Bernhardt praised the president’s pushing for the passage of the act saying, “In March, President Trump called on Congress to stop kicking the can down the road, fix the aging infrastructure at our national parks and permanently fund conservation projects through the Land and Water Conservation Fund. He accomplished what previous Presidents have failed to do for decades, despite their lip-service commitment to funding public land improvements.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Congress to have wisdom on how best to support the nation’s parks
- For President Trump to be guided by the Lord to care for God’s creation.
- That Secretary Bernhardt to be given wisdom on how best to utilize this new round of funding.
