U.S. Warns of Chinese detention of American citizens
In response to the American order to close a Chinese Consulate in Texas this week, China responded with orders for the United States to close its consulate in Chengdu on Friday. As a part of the order, China appealed to the U.S. to reverse its decision to remove the consulate–which was made because of accusations of corporate espionage.
A statement from the Chinese Foreign Ministry said, “The measure taken by China is a legitimate and necessary response to the unjustified action by the United States.” The U.S. State Department sent out a notice warning Americans in China of a “heightened risk of arbitrary detention.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For God to lead the State Department to build strong allies around the world
- That Secretary Pompeo would lead the State Department effectively.
- For American ambassadors to be kept safe.
