The operation is named after 4 yr old LeGend Taliferro.
Delivering remarks on the launch of Operation LeGend, named for the 4 year old boy shot in his sleep in Kansas City, President Trump stated his first duty is to protect the American people. As riots have erupted into increasing violence over recent weeks, the president said, “We’ll work every single day to restore public safety, protect our nation’s children, and bring violent perpetrators to justice. … We’ve just started this process, and, frankly, we have no choice but to get involved.”
Attorney General Barr stated that the demonizing of police and calls to defund law enforcement have led to the rise in violent crime in many major cities across the nation. “This rise is a direct result of the attack on the police forces and the weakening of police force,” AG Barr said.
The attorney general stressed that the anti-crime fighting activities being stepped up by Operation LeGend are standard strategies that have been successfully used to support state and local law enforcement in previous years and administrations.
AG Barr continued, “To carry out Operation LeGend, federal law enforcement agencies will be committing additional resources to these cities, including FBI agents, DEA, ATF, the U.S. Marshals, and the Department of Homeland Security HSI teams.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- That for discernment for the president’s administration as it protects citizens.
- For the Justice Department and federal agencies working to stop the violence and bring those responsible to justice.
- That God would bring peace to the U.S.
