Today, President Donald Trump will be participating in a roundtable with stakeholders positively impacted by law enforcement.
External stakeholders represent civilians, community leaders, and activists for reform. The internal stakeholders include those within law enforcement, representing chiefs of police, detectives, officers, employees, and volunteers.
Law enforcement agencies have been under a variety of increasing social and organizational pressures. As police reform has been discussed, the perspective of law enforcement as a social force for positive interaction with communities has been advancing.
Vice President Mike Pence said last month at the roundtable with Law Enforcement that the administration is working to “make sure that the men and women who dedicate their lives to law enforcement, who take risks every single day to keep our community safe, are properly supported and that the resources from the federal government, the support from state and local authorities are going to continue to hold up those honorable men and women who serve and protect every day.”
