Job 12:23 – He makes nations great.
Can you describe how powerful God is? Even to undertake a description of His power in creation is daunting. The Bible describes His power in His sovereignty, strength, and authority. He is the Supreme Ruler over all He has created. With His fingers, He established the Heavens and the Earth. With his mighty hand and outstretched arm, He brought the Israelites out of Egypt. His authority is limitless.
William Ernest Henley wrote in Invictus, “I am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soul.” Many Americans think they are in charge of their own destinies, but the Bible says, “The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps” (Proverbs 16:9). Leaders and those in authority have no power to take a nation to where God is not going (Proverbs 21:1, Daniel 2:20-21, and today’s verse).
Now is the time to align yourself with the will of God for America. Declare your dependence on Him for the fate of the nation.

Almighty, Most Powerful God, in Your Hands alone is the fate of each one of us. Your power extends to the heart of a nation. In too many ways, America has denied You; yet, You stand ready to bless us as we come to You, repenting for our wicked ways, and seeking Your face and Your favor. I desire to set my will aside in this coming election and seek to know Your will for this country. Teach me through Your Holy Word. In the name of Your Son, my Savior, Jesus Christ,
