Confident and Persistent

In whom we have boldness and access with confidence through our faith in him.  – Ephesians 3:12

Can you imagine what it would be like to see God’s glory? Moses desired to see it. God allowed Moses in His presence, but he wasn’t allowed to see His face, lest Moses would die (Exodus 33:20). What a remarkable thing Christ did to allow people to have access to God with boldness, through faith, as it says in today’s verse.

When Jesus died the temple’s huge curtain was ripped, signifying freedom to come unimpeded to God believing He will forgive sins, lift burdens and answer prayers (Matthew 27:50-51). How this country needs God’s help! Your Heavenly Father has provided a way through His Son to receive the needed help (Hebrews 4:16). Do not take this responsibility lightly. Boldly bring the needs of the country before the Lord. Just as Esther came before the king and he extended his golden scepter to receive her, God extends His golden scepter to you, through Christ, as you intercede for the nation.

All things are possible with God. As His people pray, He brings unity instead of division, health instead of sickness and peace instead of violence and war. Persevere! Jesus taught about the unjust judge who gave in to a woman’s passionate pleading. Jesus said how much more will God grant His people their requests if they do not give up (Luke 18:7). In the next verse he asks rhetorically, “Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?” May He find a lot of faith when He returns. Determine to keep praying until you see this country’s healing and peace.

And he told them a parable to the effect that they ought always to pray and not lose heart. He said, “In a certain city there was a judge who neither feared God nor respected man. And there was a widow in that city who kept coming to him and saying, ‘Give me justice against my adversary.’ For a while he refused, but afterward he said to himself, ‘Though I neither fear God nor respect man, yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will give her justice, so that she will not beat me down by her continual coming.’” And the Lord said, “Hear what the unrighteous judge says. And will not God give justice to his elect, who cry to him day and night? Will he delay long over them? I tell you, he will give justice to them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?”
