President Donald Trump will deliver remarks at the American Workforce Policy Advisory Board Meeting today. This board is comprised of leaders from the private sector, educational institutions, and state and local governments. The board seeks to increase the number of citizens in the workforce by improving jobs data, hiring and training based on skill, developing opportunities for lifelong learning, and promoting pathways to careers that sustain families.
President Trump is expected to sign an executive order that directs federal government hiring to prioritize applicants’ qualifying skills over university degrees. The intention is not to eliminate degree requirements, but to lower their importance when evaluating skillsets.
“We are modernizing federal hiring to find candidates with the relevant competencies and knowledge, rather than simply recruiting based on degree requirements,” said Ivanka Trump, co-chair of the National Council for the American Worker. “We encourage employers everywhere to take a look at their hiring practices and think critically about how initiatives like these can help diversify and strengthen their workforce.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For the president, the board, and the council as they seek to support the American workforce.
- For President Trump’s executive order to benefit the nation’s economy.
- That recovery from the pandemic shutdown will continue to progress.
