2 Chronicles 15:7 – But you, take courage! Do not let your hands be weak, for your work shall be rewarded.
The coronavirus seems to go on and on. Earlier, scientists had said when the hot weather comes, the virus will lose its grip; but in hot places like Arizona and Florida, cases have gone up as the summer approaches. The challenges with staying at home, wearing your masks, social distancing, seem insurmountable. You may be tempted to just give up. Know this, if you do, you are giving up on yourself!
Judah’s King Asa was ready to give up, when he was encouraged with the words of today’s verse. What did he do? He took courage (1 Chronicles 15:8) and he was described later as keeping his heart committed even though things had not gone the way he wanted (2 Chronicles 15:17).
Discouragement is easy when results aren’t happening fast enough or the way you would want them to. Perspectives get distorted and problems get too big. But take courage, God’s Word says. Don’t let discouragement win. Sink your heart and mind deeper into the promises of God. You won’t’ give up on Him. So, don’t give up on yourself. You will come through this.
Pray With Us
God of Mercy, I am in need of Your tender mercies today. This has been going on for months now, and I’m tired of just enduring, but helpless to make any change. So I acknowledge that the change has to be in the way I look at events. These things are but for a moment in Your greater scheme of things. Help me to see a Heavenly perspective. And, please Lord God, help America right now. We need Your grace. In Jesus Name,
Amen.
