Today, President Donald Trump will be traveling to Yuma, Arizona to inspect the recent completion of the 200th mile of the border wall along the Arizona-Mexico border. Acting Director of the Department of Homeland Security Chad Wolf will be accompanying the president.
Acting Secretary Wolf said that the border wall is an “undeniable impediment to smugglers, traffickers, and other criminals who have exploited our lack of effective border infrastructure to smuggle drugs, illicit goods, and engage in human trafficking.”
The president’s administration intends to complete 450 miles of the border wall by the end of this year. Since the end of 2019, border crossings have fallen due to the combination of the wall and the immigration policy changes that have been implemented.
After President Trump tours the border wall he will offer remarks at a Students for Trump convention at Dream City Church in Phoenix, Arizona.
