Today, President Donald Trump will sign an executive order on Safe Policing for Safe Communities, which will detail the administration’s plans for law enforcement reform.
The order will promote best practices regarding the use of force, the sharing of official information to track excessive use of force complaints, and co-responsive programs that involve social workers for responses to nonviolent reports dealing with homelessness, mental health, and addiction.
“The overall goal is we want law and order and we want it done fairly, justly. We want it done safely,” the president said from the White House. “But we want law and order,” he added. “This is about law and order, but it’s about justice also.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For President Trump as he institutes law enforcement reform.
- For the president’s administration as improvements to policing are implemented
- For the Lord to lead our governing officials as they address the issues facing the nation.
