The nation celebrates the flag that has represented the American spirit for over 200 years.
President Donald Trump issued the national proclamation marking June 14th as Flag Day, 2020. “For more than 200 years, the Stars and Stripes has represented liberty, justice, and the rule of law. Recently, as our nation has come together to respond to the coronavirus pandemic, our flag has been a reminder of the courage, tenacity, and loyalty that define the indomitable American spirit,” the president said in the announcement.
Due to the unique and current challenges that the nation is facing, the president added that “the American flag represents the unity of our country and its people. No matter what may divide us, Old Glory should be revered and cherished, as a symbol of all that makes America the greatest country in the world.”
The president concluded that he will work, along with American citizens, to carry on the legacy of unity, sacrifice, and bravery that the flag embodies.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
